Canadian guitarist and lauded songwriter Devin Townsend is currently rehearsing for not one but two as-yet-untitled full-length albums. According to Townsend's official site, www.hevydevy.com, the two albums will be released at the same time, presumably on the musician's own label HevyDevy Records, a label repsonsible for releasing the massive Terria effort. Townsend will be recording both efforts at his newly built studio, which is said to feature a "monster new computer system" to he'll record pre-production material. "Devin is rehearsing twice a day, first with Byron, Jed, and Gene then another for the second project with drummer Scotty McCargar, who you may remember as a former SYL keyboardist, and guitarist Waddell who Devin has been playing with since he was 15," a post on the Townsend's website said. "Scotty has always been a drummer and while he was not happy in the keyboard role, he is a great drummer (as well as a great personality) and is adding just the upbeat vibe the project needs." In similar news, Devin Townsend's West Coast U.S. tour is now postponed while the band finds a replacment for Terria keyboardist Jamie Meyer. Meyer's current fill-in is Zimmers Hole singer Chris Valagao, making Townsend's touring group three-quarter of the Zimmers Hole line-up.
